BRASS BAND CONCERT

Wymondham Abbey

19.30 Thursday 8 July

Norwich Citadel Band directed by Richard Woodrow;
Wymondham Area Schools Brass Band directed by Andrew Murray

Wymondham Area Schools Brass Band was set up by the County Music Service in 1987 to provide ensemble playing experience for young brass players. In their first performance just thirteen young people played – now there are 38 on the register. This concert provides an opportunity for the band to play alongside one of the finest bands in the region.

Norwich Citadel Band was established in 1882 following a visit by General William Booth, founder of The Salvation Army. The band performs at many civic, church and cultural events in Norfolk. They are off on tour to USA and Canada in October and proceeds from this concert will help support the trip.

The evening will finish with some pieces for the two bands to play together.
