Wymondham Music Festival . . .

is run entirely by volunteers. The Festival has grown every year since its foundation in 1996. We are constantly extending our role of providing live music for Wymondham people to enjoy during the summer months.

We aim to promote local musicians and organisations, develop Wymondham as a major centre of cultural activity in South Norfolk and stimulate the town’s economy and social life. This is not just an idle ‘mission statement’ - our many supporters are fulsome in their praise of our contribution to the town’s well-being. If you would like to be involved, directly or indirectly, in our continuing success, read on!

Become a sponsor or patron . . .

Public subsidies for the arts and grants from charitable trusts are becoming more and more difficult to find, especially for the Festival as a whole. We were delighted when South Norfolk Council granted us Key Service Organisation status in 2004 in recognition of our contribution to the arts. This entitles us to a grant of around 12% of what it costs to put on the Festival each year. The remaining 88% we have to seek in a variety of ways.

We are therefore very grateful to all our supporters for the financial help they provide to enable us to continue to provide a Festival that the town can be proud of - lively and forward-looking.

Listed below are some of the main ways that you or your business could contribute. But you may have some other ideas - we would love to hear from you.

• Become a Patron by making a modest donation to our funds, say £25 - or more if you wish!
• Support an event by funding part or all of the cost, with a credit in the programme and at the event and with the possibility of some commercial return. We’ll be happy to discuss your requirements and try to match them to the events that still require support.
• Advertise by taking space in the Festival programme.

Help us in practical ways . . .

Running an annual festival of the scope of Wymondham Music Festival requires a lot of dedication and hard work. The Festival is run by a band of willing volunteers - trustees, committee members, associates and helpers. We all enjoy it enormously - so we keep doing it year after year!

We’re always willing to welcome new help. If you’ve time or talent that you’d like to offer, do let us know. As well as fresh faces, it’s always good to have new ideas and thinking - it keeps us on our toes and ensures that we don’t stagnate.

• Publicity - we’re always on the look-out for people willing to put up posters, distribute flyers and programmes and generally help to spread the word
• Administration - a festival as wide reaching as ours means that there’s lots of administration work of all sorts. The type and amount tends to vary over the year. If you think you can help, do get in touch - we can then discuss the sort of skills you have and how we may best use them.
• Practical help - many events that we organise require practical help, such as erecting our small marquee, stewarding, helping move equipment, erecting barriers etc. We also have to do things like risk assessments, liaison with other local organisations, health and safety checks.
